چکیده
Recycling industrial wastes like paper mill sludge into organic fertilizers supports sustainable agriculture by valorizing residues and boosting plant physiological processes such as growth and yield formation. Quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa Willd.), valued for its resilience and nutritional profile, is an effective crop for assessing these effects. This pot experiment under field conditions evaluated enriched paper mill sludge compost (COF) against animal manure, chemical fertilizer, and a no-fertilizer control on quinoa (cv. Titicaca). Treatments were applied at equivalent rates of 2% by soil weight. Measurements focused on plant height, shoot dry weight, and seed yield. COF application resulted in the highest values for all traits, promoting superior vegetative development and biomass buildup compared to other treatments. Seed yield under COF reflected enhanced assimilate partitioning and sustained physiological support during seed development. These outcomes underscore COF's role in improving carbon fixation and resource allocation, highlighting its practical utility in waste repurposing for elevated crop performance.
